I'll answer my own question. No, it was not too pretty to eat, because we ate them both!
On Monday night, we went to Gainesville(GA), and went to a Publix there. They had such pretty pastries! The one on the left is mine, and the one on the right was Mama's. They were delicious!

The cupcakes look delicious! I think it would be fun to work in a bakery and learn the different techniques to make flowers and write pretty with icing!
