Heyers! Merry Christmas!

This weekend, my family and I put up the rest of the Christmas decorations, and I wanted to show them to you!

Last week, I put up my new pink tree in my room while listening to a Walton's Christmas CD. (You can see my past post about the Walton's here) It has become my favorite!

Here's a picture of the tree in my room:

It's pink with a pink tutu! (not shown) Mrs Mildred (a fellow blogger) gave me these ornaments. :)

Well, when we got home, I made some Christmas cookies with some cutters and mix I got for my birthday. Thank You, Mrs Debbie. :)

Little House on the Prairie

Hello!

Lately, I've fallen in love with the Little House on the Prairie series.

I've watched serveral episodes of the TV series this past week, and I put up my paper dolls today!

Now, I'm sure you're all wondering about the piece of wood in front of the paper dolls .

Well,it's a shingle from the roof of Laura Ingalls Wilder's home in Missouri. Daddy got it when he went there!

They were avaible to purchase for a small price.

Anyhow, Daddy has LOTS of books: about 3 cookbooks, a Songbook, 2 Diary books, a Blue set of all the books and many more!

Quick Update 3/3/10

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in a while!

So, Here's a Quick Update.

Yesterday, It snowed about 6 inches and I made a snowman!

That one is Mama's favorite! I can't think of a name for him yet though. He's wearing Daddy's hat and my purple scarf!

Anyway, I've also discovered Windows Live Messenger, and have talked to my friends, Quinlyn, Iona and Jasmine!

Some of my Mom's students, Mama, and I have made a new Cross Stitch Circle! It's called

"The Dorcas Sewing Circle" .

Then, there's my Dolls. I've been in a few contests! On my AGC, by Jasmine, I lost in the 3rd round.

But, I'm in Quinlyn's new one, the Life of Faith Contest! AND! I've won the First round! Here's the pic that won the first round.

I'm so proud of my dolls!

Anyways, Better get on to bed!

Hey Again!

It snowed ALL day yesterday! And James Martin, John Thomas and I just came in from outside, and we're eating Mama's Bran Muffins! YUM!!

Anyway, I took a bunch of pictures with my new camera! Daddy has a Saint Francis statue in the backyard, and I took some pictures of it, so Daddy would be able to see it without getting cold! ;-D

Elsie & Millie's New Hair-do's !

HI! Last night I rolled Elsie's hair & fixed Millie's hair. When you curl her hair, just lightly mist her hair with a spray bottle and water. And put the curlers in cool.

For Halloween I was Nancy Drew, James Martin was Spider-Man, and John Thomas-James Harriet.

We went to Truett (McConnell), and they had Smores, Trick or Treating in the dorms, and a Cardboard-Box Maze! We had to crawl through cardboard boxes, I almost lost my hat!

Thank you, Mrs. Mildred for the great idea! These are my Teddy Bears,(from left to right)Cocoa, Luke, and Teddy, in the front is Valerie.On Luke's scarf it says, Christ our Saviour is born. Luke 2. I got him last year. Valerie is several years old, Daddy got her her for me for Valentines Day.

This is Teddy and Cocoa, Teddy is about 4 or 5 years old, She's a Border's(book store) bear, I got her for Christmas. Cocoa is also a Valentines Day bear, and he smells like Chocolate! They're both very fuzzy.

Too Pretty to Eat?

On Monday night, we went to Gainesville(GA), and went to a Publix there. They had such pretty pastries! The one on the left is mine, and the one on the right was Mama's. They were delicious!

For my Abeka Reading Program, I'm reading a book called Rosa. It's about a Mexican girl who goes from place to place while her father looks for new jobs. She hates going to different schools everywhere she goes, and almost everyone makes fun of her because she is Mexican. When she gets to Washington she doesn't want to go to school. But when her younger siblings (Graciela & Juna) find a small playground she meets a new friend named Betty, who invites her to come to a Christian school with her. She makes new friends and sings a song in Spanish for a program on stage. She sings "I have decided to follow Jesus". In Spanish, that is "He decidido seguir a Christo."and "no turning back, no turning back" is "No vuevlo astras, no vuevlo astras" in Spanish. It was a great book.

Our Trip to Kentucky

On Tuesday we drove up to Kentucky, to see the Creation Mueseum. It was really fun, and we had some fun on the way there too.

Sander's Cafe

As you can see on the way there, we went to the Original Kentucky Fried Chicken in Corbin, Kentucky. When Colonel Harland Sanders started it, it was a motel. The Restraunt was right next to it, where he opened the Sanders Cafe. He also named the motel Sanders Court.

Turtles at the Creation Museum

My favorite part of the Museum was the Turtles, they had real live turtles. I was so lucky to get this picture, because he looked right at me.

The Creation Museum was about 6 day creation. They proved that there were real dinosaurs.The Bible's best description of a dinosaur-like animal is recorded in Job chapter 40. “Look at the behometh, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox. What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly! His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. He ranks first among the works of God…” Job 40:15-19.

There was this Gigantic Room, that looked like all these people building the ark! It was really neat!

The Dick Van Dyke Show

Working with Rob were two other co-writers, the husband-hunting Sally Rogers and, the perpetual wisecracker ,Buddy Sorrell. Their nemesis at the office, and much humor, was balding Mel Cooley, the pompous producer of "The Alan Brady Show" andthe brother-in-law of its star. Frequently seen were their next-door neighbors, Dentist Jerry Helper, his wife Millie,and their young son Freddie.

The show won four straight outstanding comedy Emmys. (And frankly, I'm not surprised!)

Beautiful Memories

With this tea set, Mama & I would sometimes have real tea parties! We had real tea, and Mama would let me pick the dishes, and I usually picked these. We always used Lady Grey tea.By this kind of tea, I mean hot tea.
We would have pecan sandies cookies, and my favorite, Danish Wedding cookies.

In case you didn't know, Lottie is our miniature Daschund. I posted a picture a long time ago on "Our Cross Stitching Home"of her. She sleeps all day too. Last year when I went to camp, while Daddy was on his way back home from dropping me off, she got stung on the nose by a bee, on the back porch. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see it. My brothers said it was really cute.

The Walton's

On Decmeber 20, 1971 CBS aired a holiday movie entitled The Homecoming: A Christmas Story. It turned into a series the following year called The Waltons. It depicted the life of a large, poor family living through the Depression and World War II. It was narrated from the point of view of the older son, John Boy Walton, who was remembering the joyous and challenging events of his early life on Walton Mountain in rural Virginia. The family all worked at the saw mill of their father and grandfather.
The show’s story lines featured life lessons recognized by every viewer, even as the setting was demonstrably distinct for their own. John and Olivia Walton are kind and loving parents to their seven children. And in turn they live in respectful deference of John’s own father and mother living under the same roof.
Episodes often included visiting strangers traveling through the area who needed help and shelter. And of course the Walton family was renown for its open hospitality and inviting warmth. The most memorable part of the show was its unique ending. As each episode closed we see the Walton House at night, with only one room’s light still on, and we hear the family say goodnight to each other.

When you walk, Down the road....

Touched by an angel is another one of my favorite shows. It ran from 1994 to 2003, 9 seasons.

The story line of the show is, Monica, an angel, as been promoted from "Search and Rescue" to "Case Worker" and Tess, is her superviser. And Andrew, is the Angel of death, who takes every one up to heaven.

Martha Williams is the Executive Producer, and later, Head writer, later in the Series. She has a website all about it, at www.touched.com

Today, we celebrate the day of Independance, the day we became free!

Free in the USA

On the Fourth of July,

I raised the flag,

As I spoke with love and pride:

Fred's Peanut Gallery

Today we went to a place down the road from Unicoi State Park, called Fred's Peanut Gallery.

They have Boiled Peanuts, Fried Peanuts, and tons of other kinds.

And they even had Peanut Brittle!

Do you see the Dummies? Right under the Open sign. there is a string that goes all the way across the roof, and behind the counter so that the person behind the counter can move the Dummies! This is an old picture, but today, to the right on the "Ready Ice" freezer, on the barrel there is another dummie. Here is a picture of him!

The Mate, was a mighty, sailin' man, the Skipper brave, and sure, 5 passengers, set sail that day, for a three hour, a three hour tour, the weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was lost, if not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost, the Minnow would be lost, the ship took ground on the shore of this uncharted dessert Isle, with Gilligan, the Skipper too; the Millionare, and his Wife, the Movie Star, the Proffesor and Mary Ann, here on Gilligan's Isle!

Gilligan's Island is one of my favorite television shows. On our DVD's there is a documentation, on how Gilligan's Island was really supposed to be like.
Gilligan's first name is Willy Gilligan, and he was a ship's cook, but the skipper never knew. He was a last miniute replacement. The skippers real name is Jonas Grumby. And the Proffesor's real name is Proffesor Roy Hinkly. then there's Mr. Thurston Howel the III and Lovey, his wife. And then there is Ginger Grant,who, in the show, was a famous movie star, but was originaly planned to be a Secretary, as well as Ms. Mary Ann Summers.

My Favorite American Girl Doll is Kit Kittredge. I love her because she lives in the depresion, and she has the most adventurous stories.
They finally decided on making the movie . I loved the movie! Last July, for my brother's Birthday, we went to Buford. And while they were at a Christian Trading Card Tournament, Mama, Daddy, and I went to see Kit. I brought my Kit doll with me.

Beauty and the Beast

Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, is my Favorite Princess. About a year or two ago, I got the Beauty and the Beast Video Tape from the Cleveland Library, and I kept renewing it, untill we had to bring it back! In Tennessee, I found it on VHS and I still have that copy.

One of my Favorite parts in the Movie, is when Angela Lansbury sings "Beauty and the Beast"

Last Night we finished our last day of Vacation Bible School. Rev. Billy Burell (from a nearby radio station, WCON), was the speaker for the Adults. Mama was the Bible Study teacher for all the ages, except for the youth, Mr. Tim Hilton did that (he was our guest at church). My Sunday School teacher, Mrs. Lori Durham, was the craft leader. One of my parent's students, Kate Bushey, did the Recreation, and she did a really good job, we had a lot of fun!

I just wanted to tell you about my favorite food, Petro's! A couple of years ago, my parents went to a restaurant called Petro's. And Mama makes them for us sometimes. Here is what they have in them"

Frito's, with Chili, Sour Cream, and Shredded Cheese on top!

Sometimes, when Mama fixes them, we sit in the Living Room, and watch the "Invaders"

These are my two little cats. Helen, the one who is very small, is actually a cat, when she looks like a kitten!

All of our cats are named after Andy Griffith Show Characters, except for Ginger, the Yellow Tabby (shown in the picture). From the Oldest Clara, Ginger, Barney, Helen.
